RECRUITMENT DETAILS
Through open market on the basis of advertisement in Employment News & leading local news papers. The recruitment is made in Grade Pay Rs.1800/- in PB- I. Educational Qualifications- 10TH PASS. Age Limits– UR 18 to 33, OBC 18 to 36 and SC/ST 18 to 38 years. Further age relaxation as per Government rules. Examination Fees- Rs. 40/-.
The following categories are exempted from payment of examination fees: (i)Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities, (ii)Women candidates, (iii)Candidates belonging to minority communities, (iv)Candidates belonging to backward classes having annual family income of less than Rs.50,000/-, (v)Persons with Disabilities.
PROCEDURE FOR RECRUITMENT
The recruitment procedure consists of Written Examination followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination.
Written Examination
The Question Paper for the Written Examination shall be based on Class 10th standard consisting of 150 Multiple Choice (Four) objective type questions aimed to assess the General Knowledge / Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning etc. The duration of the Written Examination shall be 2 (TWO) Hours. The question paper shall be printed in Hindi, English, Urdu and Gurmukhi (Punjabi). There will be negative marking for wrong answers.
The criterion for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
(i) Male candidates should be able to run for a distance of 1500 metres in 6 minutes in one chance. (ii) Female candidates should be able to run for a distance of 400 metres in 3 minutes in one chance. The entire proceeding of PET is to be video graphed.
The persons with disabilities are exempted from appearing for PET.
The candidates whoever successfully passes in written examination and PET shall be called for verification with original certificates and medical examination.
After the verification of all relevant original documents of passed candidates, they shall be subjected to a Medical Examination. Clearing the Medical Examination is mandatory. Only those, who clear the Medical examination successfully, will be included in the Final Merit List, to the extent of vacancies available.

Applications will be strictly rejected on the following grounds :-
1. Unsigned/undated applications (Two places). Don’t sign in CAPITAL LETTERS.
2. Application without Thumb Impression
3. Application without Body Marks of Identification (para 4 of application)
4. Without Photo
5. Without Declaration in Running Handwriting (para 15 of application form)
6. Without required fees (Pls read carefully para 2 of the notification). No Demand Draft will be accepted.
7. Without enclosing proper certificates. Fill up Documents Enclosed (para 13 of application correctly)
8. More than one application sent by the same candidate.
9. Incomplete application in any form
10. Write PINCODE compulsorily in your mailing address for correct mailing.
11. Write Correct code as PH and Caste wherever applicable.
12. RRC website www.rrcnr.org will be primary source of communication with the candidates including the crosschecking/validating of ineligibility/eligibility of the applications.
Declaration of Result: Emp. Notification No. 220-E/OpenMkt./RRC/2010
1. As a result of Written Examinations held on 6th May, 13th May & 27th May 2012 and 3rd June, 10th June & 24th June 2012 for various posts of Grade Pay Rs. 1800/- at Chandigarh, Jammu and Delhi, a List of successful candidates who have provisionally qualified for being called for the Physical Efficiency Test(PET) has been uploaded on our website www.rrcnr.org Candidate can search his/her result after entering their Roll Number and Control Number in the relevant field.
 
 
2. All necessary/due care has been taken while preparing the list of provisionally Eligible Candidates for calling of PET but inadvertent human errors cannot be overruled. RRC/Northern Railway reserves the right to correct such mistakes whenever it is brought to notice. Administration also reserves the right to make additions or deletions in the list, due to administrative reasons, which may lead to either exclusion or inclusion of candidates.
 
 
3. PET is tentatively scheduled to be held between 25.10.2012 and 09.11.2012. Exact Date, Venue and Time of PET will be made known to the candidates by way of Admit Card which will be despatched one month before the commencement of PET and also be uploaded on website. Candidates to the extent of Three Times the number of vacancies published in notification, are being called for PET. Merely being called for PET does not entitle/confer upon any right to be selected. Final merit of selected candidates will be based on the Written Exams, PET, Medical Examination and successful completion of document verification at all stages.
 
 
4. Passing the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory. The criterion for the PET is as under:- Male Candidates Female Candidates Should be able to run for a distance of 1500 meters in six minutes in one chance. Should be able to run for a distance of 400 meters in three minutes in one chance.
 
 
5. No repeat/second chance/relaxation in standard for PET will be given under any circumstances. Similarly, there will be no adjustment of Venue or Date.
6. Railway Administration will not be liable/responsible for any loss/injury/damage, whether direct or consequential, suffered/incurred by any candidate during PET. Candidates are advised in their own interest, therefore, to ensure that they are physically and otherwise fit to undertake the PET and observe due care to avoid injury/damage/loss to either themselves or others during the process of PET.
 
 
7. Candidate is also advised to keep all their documents/certificates in readiness in prescribed formats which is available on our website.
8. Result of Person With Disability (PH candidates) has already been issued on 13.08.2012, same is also available on website.
9. Ground of rejection prescribed by RRC/NR will compulsorily apply even when detected at the time of document and application scrutiny.
10. Cases of fraud and proxy will be rejected in case when biometrics scanning (at the time of PET) of the candidates do not match with the OMR and Application records.
